Tomorrow...

Tomorrow evening my brother and parents will meet with a defense attorney. We have been made aware that the police will be recommending that at least one charge be filled against Little Bo. If you are not aware, Little Bo was driving home from a football game when he was involved in a pedestrian fatality accident. I don't want to get into the details of the accident as this is not the time or the place. But I will say that we have seen the police report and medical eaminers report. From what Little Bo says and what the reports say our family believes that Little Bo was not negligant in his driving that night. We believe that he did everything right and in spite of this the pedestrian was killed.

What we know is that the police department will be sending a recommendation to the city prosecutor. This is actually a blessing because it means that the charges being recommended are either a traffic violation or misdemeanor. The city prosecutor does NOT handle the vehicular manslautor level charges. We are inclined to believe that they will be recommending an "inattentiveness while driving" charge. This is a blanket traffic violation that covers everything from excessive speed, to talking on one's cell phone. However, since it is a blanket charge the sentencing recommendation is the big unknown.

We are fortunate enough to have been recommended to this defense attorney. However, with the economy tight right now, particularly for our family and the defense attorney does not come cheap, we are not sure how we will pay for the attorney. But we will figure out a way. We have our fingers crossed that our auto insurance will cover the retainer (as the insurance company has a stake in the outcome of any criminal charges as Little Bo being found guilty makes civil charges easier to prove).

So if you can pray that:

1) the Lord prepares Little Bo's heart for what he will hear tomorrow.
2) the Lord will work on the heart of the city prosecutor and judge in Little Bo's case
3) the Lord will provide a financial means for Little Bo's defense
4) the Lord will guide Little Bo's defense
5) and as hard as it is to say, that ultimately God's will alone will be done.
6) and as always we ask you also to continue praying for healing for the victim's family and for the other individuals who witnessed the accident

I have faith in Him that everything will be fine. Times have been rocky and scary this semester. Remember you have us to make you smile as we tromple our way to the floor on the way to have dinner/drinks. :) *smile* we're almost done with our first semester!
